PSP Video Converter 2011 by Xlinksoft is a light yet powerful video conversion tool specially designed to convert videos from all most popular formats into PSP- and PS3-compatible ones using various codecs. This program also allows you to extract the audio from your video files and save it using the most widespread audio compression codec - MP3.
With an avant-garde and attractive interface, this program offers you all the tools you need to carry out your video conversions in a single-window environment. There you can see a panel where you are allowed to add one or more of the source videos you want to see converted into the formats supported, and a small media player to let you preview any selected video. There are also buttons to add more videos to the list, to delete them, to clear the list (deleting all the previously added videos), and to edit the active one.
When you edit a video a new window opens, where you can make use of four different editing tools - "Trim", which allows you to extract a part of the video; "Crop", useful to define the size of the video screen; "Padding", which allows you to select the filling method for non-selected areas of the video; and "Volume", to change the volume level of the output file.
Back to the main interface - here you can choose the desired output format (MP3, WAV, or WMA), some PS3-compatible codecs and containers (including DivX, XviD, H.264, MPEG2, and WMV), and some PSP-compatible ones, including H.264 and MPEG4. You can also change specific settings for any chosen format, like the video codec, bit rate, frame rate, quality and resolution, and for any chosen audio codec, together with its bit rate, sampling rate, and level of quality. Once you have adjusted the settings, you can start the conversion process, and all the files you added will be converted at once.
The conversion process is pretty fast and it does not show any problems under normal conditions. However, the trial version of the program has a couple of limitations - it will convert only the first five minutes of the source video, or half of the video if its length is shorter than five minutes. Besides, the "Trim" editing tool will not work. These limitations, of course, will be removed as soon as you buy a serial number and register the program.
